Beautiful gardens and leisurely walks, regency history and the Jurassic coast with clean beaches and friendly shops.... it's all here in this lovely seaside town that nestles beneath majestic red cliffs and the green hills of the glorious Sid Valley.
For sporting guests there are fantastic coastal, river, woodland & moorland walks and cycling paths within easy reach. For those more active there are several golf courses, croquet lawns, tennis courts, bowls greens, horse riding, fishing and sailing all within easy reach. During the summer Sidmouth cricket club (one of the few clubs left with a thatched clubhouse and scorers box) host many matches each week and you can relax by the sea, enjoy a great cuppa and gaze out to sea all at the same time as watching the play.
Sidmouth also has its cultural heritage with a delightful Museum which arranges free walking guides around Sidmouth during the summer months, art galleries, antique shops, a delightful Cinema and Theatre which is used by many local groups and also Paul Taylor Mills Ltd presenting their Third Summer Season of 12 plays during July, August and September.
In addition from May until September the excellent Sidmouth Silver Band performs every Sunday evening in the renowned Connaught Gardens Bandstand.
